In August 2019 the LeRan Performing Arts Center travelled with 22 students to New York City. During this captivating 10-day trip, we experienced an array of unforgettable moments that will forever linger in our memories.
Our students engaged in a transformative 5-day Broadway workshop, called'A star act New York’, led by highly skilled Broadway actors and industry professionals. Within a nurturing and supportive environment, they honed their singing, dancing, and acting abilities by rehearsing iconic musical theater numbers. The culmination of their hard work was showcased in front of a small audience at the conclusion of the workshop.
In addition to the workshop, our group attended five different Broadway shows (Frozen, Aladdin, King Kong, Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen) over the course of ten days, each performance leaving us spellbound and inspired by the exceptional talent on display.
Lastly, we had the privilege of embarking on a tour of Juilliard University, where we delved into the creative world of a Juilliard arts student, immersing ourselves in the rich tapestry of artistic expression.
It has been an astonishing educational trip that changed the student's professional view on the performing arts. The New York trip was led and managed by Tina Tao, Elana Shyong and Sarah Knop.
